FELIPE CABEZA or "Fepo" was the first native certified diver on the island. His interest in the submarine world began when he was an adolescent and as a result he is today recognized through out the country. He is a NAUI and BIS certified instructor, who has dedicated his entire life to exploring and getting to know the sea, which makes him one of the most knowledgeable in sea world people on the island.

Moreover, he shares his knowledge and experience in social, ecological and educational activites with adolescents from OLD PROVIDENCE & SANTA CATALINA ISLANDS.  He is the extrovert “MASTER Cabeza” committed to his work and community.  Whoever dives with “FEPO” and his diving team undoubtedly come back to the island, because to know it and to know him will awaken exactly the same passion he feels for his home land. You will sense him as a spiritual MASTER of the depths; since every time you dive with him, your soul, thoughts and five senses are fulfilled. If you have any fear to practice diving, FELIPE is, without a doubt, the man to help you get over it.

IGNACIO CABEZA  or “PICHI” is the youngest instructor in the center, but not the least experienced.  Pichi has spent all his life in the water, first as sports fisherman, then as boat captain and diver as well. 

Currently, he works full time as diving instructor at the same center, as his brother, Pichi´s passion to share and teach makes him worth trusting, he is an invaluable instructor. When you meet him, you would sense his kindness and humanity. His responsibility, humility and sociability makes visitors not only feel confident, relaxed and safe with him but they also discover the great and special human being he is. Dealing with groups is another quality of this amiable instructor, who knows how to deal with small and large groups, without forgetting the all important techniques.  Pichi is and will always be the coolest and friendliest face in the center, if people wish to know the island better, he is the one to ask all about it.

 

 

JIM ROBINSON

JIM ROBINSON began diving during his adolescence and joined FELIPE DIVING CENTER when it began. Jim is a sportsman, in his teens he began playing basketball and practicing sports fishing. 

Today he still combines these two activities both as a diving instructor and as the island’s juvenile basketball team coach. Just by looking at him you perceive the human being he is, which encourages the developpment of a most forthcoming relationship.  Jim is an instructor of few but really wise words.  At first sight might look serious and shy, but when relaxed, he will let his excellent sense of humor and sympathy shine. At all times his calm and passive way of diving will persuade you to join him under water.

Charlie was born on the Colombian Caribbean coast and brought up in the islands; he is an amiable, outgoing person who enjoys meeting people and learning about things.  He has a lot of love and passion for his work, in his adolescence he was a fisherman like every man in the island, in the last few years he has been dedicated to diving. Being an excellent sailor he is the last person to join the diving center team.

Fausto is a Professor at the School of Veterinary and Zootecnia of LA UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE COLOMBIA.  He became a diver around 8 years ago, currently he is the “GUARDAMARES” Diving Project Coordinator from LA UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL.  He trained in the “SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY SCUBBA PROGRAM of PADI and was supported by FELIPE DIVING.  The participants have the opportunity to practice Diving the purpose being to contribute to their integral development, as a result of the necessity to compliment their different academic and research activities.  All of this is done with the hope of popularizing diving in a responsible way within the quality criteria of the sport.
